Ghibli Museum by Bus
You can go to Ghibli Museum from Mitaka Station by bus or walking.
It takes about 5 minutes by bus, and 15-20 minutes on foot.
First, I will explain the access by bus.
There is only one large ticket gate at Mitaka station. After you exit the ticket gate, left side is "South exit". and right side is "North exit".
GHIBLI MUSEUM is the side of "South exit". So turn left after you exit the ticket gate.
The sign read "GHIBLI MUSEUM".
Here is the South exit.
There is the guidance "GHIBLI MUSEUM is left side".
Take the escalato to the 1st floor.
By the way, you can go straight without using escalator. The yellow bus is bound for GHIBLI MUSEUM.That is the bus stop.
You can even take the stairs to the bus stop. And if you are a smoker, here is a smoking area. GHIBLI MUSEUM and its circumference are no smoking.
If you don't have to smoke, you take the escalator just a moment ago.
When you go downstairs, please keep going straight.
You will see the bus stop on your right. The bus stop number is 9.
You will take that bus to GHIBLI MUSEUM from here.
You can buy the bus ticket form this ticket machine. The price is 210yen single and 320 yen return. The child's fee is half of adult's fee. And you can also use PASMO and Suika. The lowest is a round trip ticket.
GHIBLI MUSEUM is 4 more bus stops from Mitaka Station.
There is 2 kinds of bus which departs this bus stop, and you can go to GHIBLI MUSEUM by both buses. The buses leave every 10 minutes.

After about 5 minutes by bus, the 4th bus stop is "Mitaka GHIBLI MUSEUM".
Right in front of the bus stop is GHIBLI MUSEUM.
Ghibli Museum on Foot
Next, I will explain the access on foot.
It takes about 15-20 minutes.
From Mitaka station, there is an pedestrian trail to GHIBLI MUSEUM.
This way feels so good.
A small stream ran down along the pedestrian trail.
Here in the spring, pretty cherry blossoms bloom.
Around here is a place noted in connection with the Japanese novelist "Osamu Dazai".
There is "Totoro" on the guideboard to in an GHIBLI MUSEUM.
New green leaves are very beautiful.
Here is halfway Mitaka Station and GHIBLI MUSEUM.
There are turtles in the small stream.
A short walk brought me to an old western house.
This old house is "Yuzo Yamamoto Museum". Yuzo Yamamoto is Japanese novelist.
There is a garden in the back of "Yuzo Yamamoto Museum".
You can also enter this old house.(300 yen)
There is a bus stop in front of "Yuzo Yamamoto Museum".
There are stylish shops along the road.
A short walk will bring you to "Inokashira Park". GHIBLI MUSEUM is in Inokashira Park.
Turn right at the next T-intersection.
There is also a pedestrian trail in the park.

From GHIBLI MUSEUM
You can back to Mitaka Station by bus or walking from Ghibli Museum. The bus stop is in front of GHIBLI MUSEUM.
The buses leave every 10 minutes. It takes about 10 minutes by bus.
Ghibli Museum is midway between Mitaka Station and Kichijoji Station. So you can also walk to Kichijoji station.
